2004-03-25 at 6:46 p.m. - spring break and then some...

Ok i have tried to start an update a good 3 times already but get side tracked or i remember something else more important that i haven't done yet. LOTS has happened since the last update.

Going to California was definitely a good way to spend spring break. Though i have been asked about what all i did and am rather annoied when asked , but only because i have explained so many times and half of them only half listening when i said something. But anyways, it was fun. We spent a day and a half at the beaches:Long Beach, Newport beach, Huntington beach, Languna beach, sunset beach and later in the week oceanside and san diego beaches. So much sand to walk around in. They have gold flecks in the sand on most of the beaches, it looked really cool in the sun under the water. There is something that is totally calming and inspiring just being there at the beach, i could be there for days...

Bobbie's mom , Ann, made sure we found all the wal-marts though we only went to one of them. Went to a target and several grocery stores.

We hit 5 Hard Rock Cafes on this trip: Hollywood, Las Angeles, San Diego, Newport Beach, and Tijuana in Mexico. I got to rub in Jake's face that i've been to mexico twice and he has yet to have been.

We did lots of shopping of course, but those of you who really know me when i say i only bought ONE pair of shoes, and one new purse u know that is very unusual. L.A. is set up in to districts and in the fashion district bob and i both got leather coats for 15$, i got a purse for $5, and they had loads of prom dresses and such for only 20-25$ it was really neat to look around.

We went to old China town and bob and i both bought chinese shirts, mine is red, hers blue. Later we bought purses to go with them. Got me a fan, that i currently have misplaced...they had really nice little shops in there. We met up with Ann's cousin Ron and he showed us several neat places around. He took us down to (old) china town.

On St.Patrick's day we went to Disneyland. To me it was a bit of a dissapointment because Disneyworld is so much better. Plus they had several of thier rides under contruction or updateing. And like the best ride of all time , space Mountain, was closed until 2005! I mean BIG bummer right there. We were in the Haunted Mansion when the lights suddenly came on and they said they were having technical difficulties, sort of took away from the spooky scene they were tryign to portray. We watched the new musical "snow white" performed live, it was ok. By the end of the day we were SO tired. My entire body ached!!!MY back hurt, and it never hurts like that. So i know i did some walkin that day! My calf muscles were gettin a work out for sure, especially since they were sore from walking in the sand already.

The next day we slept in, Disneyland had wiped us out! We drove to Newport Beach again for a Picasso museum, but upon seeing the 14$ addmission fee we turned around and came back to the room and went swimming. Well actually i just sunbathed by the pool, listening to the cd mix landa made me, when jake called my cell phone. He was in San Diego that day. We had wanted to meet up but that wasn't working out. This was Thursday and we went to see a hockey game that Ron had free tickets to. Los Angeles Kings vs. San Jose Sharks. the sharks won. After the game we went to the Chinese man theatre. Put my hands in M. monroe's. took pics of the stars on hollywood blvd. We didn't see any hookers though we were out at like 10:30 so maybe it was too early. Took the subway back to our car. Gas was $2.08, and that was the cheapest and every where you went it was like $8 to park. So getting a day pass on the subway was definitely cheaper.

The last day we drove to San Diego, went to a couple beaches and then took a bus over into Mexico. Got some vanilla and a HRC shirt. by then my cash flow was gettin low, but i still had plastic. We had had lunch in a KC BBQ joint. It was strange seeign all the KS stuff in the middle of downtown San Diego. When talking with jake later he said they had drove by that place. It was where the sleasy bar scene in "Top Gun" was filmed. Started my a KU grad, the BBQ was ok, not GREAT but not bad.

The next mornign however was stressful, no lets not even try to define it. We got up late, at 6:05 and our plane left at 6:55. Takes 30 min to get to the air port and a good hour and 15 to check in and go through the LONG ass security check line. We were panicking because the lady at the Northwest airline desk said it was not looking good for us at all. She hadnt' seen any one in this bad a predicament in a LONG time. But she was extrmely nice and transfered us to Midwest. we now had a direct flight and would be getting home 2hrs earlier than original. I had prayed the night before for God to help us get on our plane safely and smoothy. So smoothly was sort of thrown out the door, but He did open a window letting us get in the line of that woman. More proof he is watching over me and my pals. We got home and i was glad to be here. I had been sort of worried because mom had gone to the emergency room,and sounded really bad when i called before going in to Mexico. But she is sort of getting better now.

Talked with Jake when i got home and unpacked. *laughs* He said when he was watching "Return of the King" for the 3rd time with his cousin there was a scence with Arwin and he swore he...smelled me- like the smell of my hair or something, but once the scene was over the smell was gone. strange... When i saw him on Monday he said that the night before he had a dream where he like ran and attacked me with a big hug when he first saw me at school. Sort of odd bc that is basically what i did to him monday. So i know he missed me and thought about me...in his own way.

This past tuesday Kate informed me that she was having a movie night at her house in celebration of no school the next day. I was hoping to get off work a little early in time to meet Elsbe over at Landa's house for a few minutes, but that ended up not working out because of how early the movie night was starting, and Jake ended up picking me up about 30 min after Bobbie dropped me off. I knew that by not going to Landa's i was getting myself in to the "you blew off your friends for a guy" thing again, but i didn't seem to mind...at the time, now looking back it was stupid and selfish, but i was only going ot be over there for like 15 min anyways. Ah well. What really got me mad and completely made me forget about not seeing my hubby, was what my dad told me. When i asked him if i could go to the movie night, he hesitated, and then said i had to be home by 10! I don't EVER remember having such an early curfew...evar! It ended up working out however because Jake was pretty tired, the play that day drained him. we left Kate's around 9...got home...before 10.

UMKC has given me the run around on my application. So now i think i'm just going to send them the stinkin application fee, even though i've sent 2 fee waivers so they will process my flippin application already. I wish they would have told me this the last time i called a month ago!!!!!! Makes me mad. Though Mom seems to be pushin Baker right now? She knows the head of the education department there and has sponsored some student teachers from there in her classroom. They do have a good pre-dentistry program, not as good as UMKC's but they have given me quite a bit of money. Though Jake is going there, and i don't want it to seem that i'm just deciding to go there because he is. I do not want to make a decision like Felicity! Not chasing a guy, over my education!!!

In the past two weeks i have filled out like 5 or 6 major scholarship applications. I am getting better, and now that i've written a couple essays i'm able to reuse them, it comes in handy.

Well i'm now leaving again, but not for so long. choir is going on an overnight trip to St.Louis. should be muchly fun...well i hope. I get to sleep with my woman...wait maybe I"M her woman?...oh well. We have to be at school on the bus leaving at 6, so i think i'll be getting up at like 4:45am. Need more sleep than that! That is the "butt crack of dawn" as Landa said!!!!

This entry is really long, and full of typos but i started this at 6:46 and its now 9:22...lots of distractions...
